Remy Gardner memimpin sesi latihan bebas terakhir jelang kualifikasi Moto2 Styria di Red Bull Ring. Pembalap Red Bull KTM Ajo itu mencatatkan laptime 1 menit 28,680 detik untuk memastikan satu slot Q2 dengan meyakinkan.

Gardner mengungguli Marco Bezzecchi yang sempat terjatuh pada awal sesi, namun masih bisa melanjutkan sesi pada 10 menit terakhir dan menempatkan dirinya di posisi kedua dengan selisih 0,075 detik dari puncak.

Aron Canet menempati posisi ketiga, diikuti duo Marc VDS Augusto Fernandez dan Sam Lowes. Dengan 14 pembalap teratas mengamankan catatan terbaiknya di FP3, maka mereka berhak untuk lolos otomatis ke Q2.
