The FIM Scandinavian Grand Prix was postponed after just three races tonight night due to problems with the track that made racing impossible at the Ullevi Stadium, Gothenburg. The rescheduled date of the event is next Saturday, August 30th.

Polish Grand Prix: Gollob's the main man.
Tomasz Gollob won the Polish Grand Prix in Bydgoszcz this evening with a spectacular display of brave speedway. Gollob's victory shoots him up to joint third in the standings but Tony Rickardsson's second place extended his overall lead to a dozen points from Ryan Sullivan.

Poole come from behind to win Craven Shield.
Poole recovered from their poor performance at Wolverhampton on Monday night to make the most of home track advantage in the final leg and win the Craven Shield tonight, bringing a close to the 2001 speedway season at the same time.

Peterborough lifted the Knockout Cup for the second time in three years tonight (Saturday). They went down to 48-42 in the second leg in Ipswich but were never in danger of losing the twelve point advantage they had build up in the first leg.
