IP Tech adds fresh backer
Andy Neate's IP Tech Race Engineering team has announced a new sponsorship deal with One-LUX for its maiden assault on the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.
The new team will field an NGTC-spec Chevrolet Cruze for the 2013 campaign after former Team RAC, Team Aon and MG man Neate elected to set up his own team for his fourth full season on the grid.
With discussions ongoing with a series of potential partners for the programme, Neate has confirmed that a deal has been struck that will see One-LUX move into the BTCC for the first time; having been involved in the supporting Renault Clio Cup last year.
"As with everything, it's all about timing and One-LUX were looking for opportunities to build their brand through motor racing," Neate said. "There's no doubt, we've got a lot in common with the team at One-LUX and we're really excited about sharing the season ahead with them."
The company, which specialises in the design and build of electronic components for the lighting industry, will now seek to make the most of the chance to increase its brand awareness through the deal.
"One-LUX strives for ultimate performance, absolute precision and exceptional innovation in our products," MD Glynnis Murray said. "We have 100 per cent confidence that IP Tech share these values and accurately reflect the goals and missions we set out here at One-LUX."
Work on the IP Tech Chevrolet [pictured] is ongoing at the team's Northamptonshire base ahead of the opening round of the new season at Brands Hatch at the end of March.
