Andrew Jordan secures Lydden Hill Rallycross outing
Reigning BTCC champion Andrew Jordan is to compete in the British round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship after agreeing a deal to join the Olsbergs MSE team.
Jordan, who won the 2007 British Rallycross Supercar title, will act as a test driver for the team during the course of the year and will drive one of the team's Ford Fiesta Supercars in the British event on the weekend of 24/25 May.
The 24-year-old tested with the team in Sweden last summer and will now aim to make the most of the opportunity to showcase his talents on the world stage.
Former WRC title winner Petter Solberg is amongst the driver who Jordan is set to go up against in the event.
"I only wanted to do this with a team where I felt there was a good fit," Jordan said. "I've built a relationship with Andreas Eriksson, the team boss, over the last year. Obviously at Lydden I want to be as competitive as possible but I also want to try and help the team become World Champions.
"Rallycross is growing and evolving quickly so it is important that the teams and drivers develop. With my circuit racing experience, I hope I can help the team and its drivers."
