Ellinas beats Plato for race one pole
Slidesport Engineering's Tio Ellinas has secured pole position for round three of the 2018 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship after dominating a wet qualifying at Donington Park.
Arriving at the former Grand Prix just two-points behind championship leader Dino Zamparelli, Ellinas stormed to pole by a handsome margin after beating Lewis Plato by over 0.5s after setting a 1 minute 16.106s during the dying moments of the session.

The JTR prepared 911 GT3 Cup car of Plato had led the timesheets as the 30-minute shootout reached its halfway point. However, as the conditions marginally improved the times began to tumble.
Plato initially looked to have done enough to the top-spot in the final minutes of the session, but Ellinas subssequently responded to return his Porsche to the top.
Despite spending much of the session languishing towards the rear of the top-ten, points leader Zamparelli will start this afternoon's opening race from third on the grid. Dan Harper joins the Redline entry on the second row after setting the fourth quickest time.
Motorbase Performance's Dan Vaughn completes the top-five as the leading Pro-Am runner ahead of Tom Wrigley in sixth.
Race two winner from Brands Hatch, George Gamble was seventh fastest aboard his Amigos Team Parker prepared 911 GT3 Cup car, marginally ahead of series newcomer Will Bratt in eighth.
Pro-Am runners Seb Perez and Justin Sherwood completed the remainder of the top-ten order in ninth and tenth.
Peter Mangion proved the dominant force in the Am category after the Team Parker Racing driver clinched pole position in his class by nearly a second ahead of G-Cat Racing's Dave Shaw.
