Cook demotes Cammish in second practice

Power Maxed TAG Racing's Josh Cook has taken over the mantle from FP1 pacesetter Dan Cammish to lead the British Touring Car Championship field during a wet second practice at Donington Park.

With the conditions remaining much the same from FP1, Cook and Cammish once again led the way at the head of the field for Vauxhall and Honda.

However, whilst Cammish was unable to improve upon his FP1 time, Cook did manage to dip below his previous best effort and subsequently topped the timesheets by almost 0.4s ahead of the leading Honda Civic Type-R runner.

BTC Norlin Racing's Chris Smiley ensured two Honda Civic Type-Rs made the top-three order after the Ulsterman set the third quickest time ahead of Laser Tools Racing's Aiden Moffat in fourth.

Despite only setting a time good enough for 20th in FP1, Motorbase Performance's Sam Tordoff shaved over 0.6s over this previous effort from the opening session to emerge from FP2 with the fifth quickest time aboard his Ford Focus RS.

MG's Rory Butcher split the two Motorbase Performance Fords in sixth with Tom Chilton following closely behind with the seventh fastest time.

Current championship leader Tom Ingram was another to rise back up the order in FP2 after the Toyota Avensis driver produced a time good enough for eighth.

Ciceley Mercedes duo Tom Oliphant and Adam Morgan completed the remainder of the top-ten.

Elsewhere, in what proved to be a difficult session for Subaru, Ashley Sutton set the 12th fastest time before his BMR outfit confirmed the reigning champion's Levorg would undergo an engine change late in the session, prior to qualifying.
