Jordan targeting first BTCC win of 2018

BMW Pirtek Racing's Andrew Jordan is aiming to secure his first British Touring Car Championship race victory of the season at this weekend's Croft round.

Jordan enjoyed his strongest weekend of the year so far last time out with a double podium at Oulton Park. As a result that's moved the 2013 BTCC champion back up to seventh in the points standings as the season nears its halfway point.

After a challenging opening couple of rounds, Jordan has finished within the top-six of every race he's taken part in since finishing fifth in race three at Donington Park.

Jordan was forced to miss the third Thruxton race earlier in the year on medical grounds after suffering from a bout of food poisoning.

“Oulton was exactly what we needed after a few events that hadn’t quite gone to plan," said Jordan.

"We were able to show the strength of the BMW in qualifying and race trim at a track that has suited it well in the past and Croft should provide another chance to make up ground in the points table, especially with the BTCC being as wide-open as it is just now."

As a result of his current championship reckoning, Jordan is hoping to take advantage of running just 21-kilos of success ballast around what has traditionally been a happy hunting ground for the RWD contingent.

"I’m seventh, which means 27kg success ballast, but that’s a workable situation and I’m confident of being able to fight for my first win of the year.”
