Ingram: We can throw caution to the wind
Tom Ingram says he's going 'to throw caution to the wind' during this weekend's British Touring Car Championship finale as the Speedworks Motorsport driver bids to overhaul Colin Turkington at the top of the table at Brands Hatch.
Ingram closed the gap on championship leader Turkington after beating his main rival to second place in race three at Silverstone, but still trails the Team BMW driver by 34-points with just 67 left to play for.

Nevertheless, Ingram, mindful that Turkington is on two penalty strikes, is looking for every avenue to maintain the pressure on his championship rival.
"We will go to Brands Hatch with a fighting chance. Yes, we’re obviously still the underdog, but the ball is in our court and we’re not giving up now!" said Ingram.
"We’re the hunter, while Colin is the hunted. The pressure is on him, not us and he’s sitting on two strikes, so he can’t afford to take any major risks whereas we can throw caution to the wind a bit more."
While Turkington has been ultra-consistent at the top of the drivers' standings with a string of strong points finishes, Ingram believes his Speedworks Motorsport prepared Toyota Avensis is strongest car heading to the season finale.
Ingram has at times displayed electrifying pace behind the wheel of his Toyota Avensis, typified by his latest win at Silverstone, which came after starting 15th on the grid.
"We’re in the best shape possible. You’d say we’ve got the strongest car. We’re lighter on weight and we’re in the driving seat. We’ve gone well at Brands in the past. We took 42 points out of Colin in the last two races," Ingram continued.
"We can do it, it’s just a case of putting it all together.”
