Smiley ends practice fastest for BTC Racing
BTC Racing's Chris Smiley has topped a topsy-turvy British Touring Car Championship free practice two order after tricky conditions continue to dominate play at Donington Park.
The Honda Civic Type R driver leapt to the top of the timesheets during the dying minutes of the 40-minute session as the track continued to dry.
Although the light drizzle from the opening session continued to persist in FP2, a dry-line began to materialise mid-way through the second session, with the vast majority of the field ending the running on the slick tyre.

Ultimately, it was the BTC Honda of Smiley who managed to set the fastest representative lap in the improving conditions after setting a 1 minute 12.622s lap ahead of the Mercedes A-Class of Adam Morgan in second.
Brands Hatch race three winner Rory Butcher was one of the first drivers to set a fast lap on the slick tyre and ended the session in third ahead of the two Team HARD prepared Volkswagen CCs of Jack Goff and Bobby Thompson in fourth and fifth.
Since moving to Power Maxed Racing over the winter, Rob Collard posted his highest result in any session of the season so far with the sixth fastest time, with current championship leader Josh Cook following behind in seventh.
Eighth and tenth fastest times for Michael Crees and Carl Boardley meant all four Team HARD prepared Volkswagen CCs made the top-ten order.
Subaru's Ashley Sutton split the Volkwagens of Crees and Boardley in ninth position.
