Jordan: This is the best I've been driving

BMW Pirtek Racing's Andrew Jordan believes he's currently producing the best driving of his British Touring Car Championship career after notching his fourth and fifth race victories of the season at Croft.

Following a bizarre qualifying on Saturday, Jordan converted his first pole position in over five-years into two further race victories in races one and two, which has propelled the 2013 BTCC champion back up to fourth in the championship standings.

Jordan dominated the opening race of the day ahead of BTC Racing's Chris Smiley before resisting the charge of his West Surrey Racing BMW team mate and title rival Colin Turkington to take win number five of the year in race two.

The BMW 330i M Sport driver bolstered an already handsome points tally with a ninth place finish in race three, giving him a weekend total of 52-points.

"It’s been a 52 point weekend. Come away as the top points scorer, gone to fourth in the points and closed the gap. That’s about as much as we could do," Jordan told Crash.net.

"Race three we missed the boat a bit with setup with the conditions. But to do the double again, winning four races out of the last six is a bit unheard these days in this championship.

"We didn’t quite have the balance there. We couldn’t push on as much as I hoped. I thought the same, I thought we could have been in for a podium.

"Cracking day. The car has been fantastic and the team has been superb. I’ve executed it well in race one and two so I’m very happy."

Such has been Jordan's level of form so far this season, the WSR driver is already just one win away from equalling the six victories he accrued during his championship winning season back in 2013 with Eurotech Racing.

Despite being side-lined for most of the Donington Park race day earlier this year following his heavy race one shunt, Jordan's strike rate means the 30-year old has won almost half the races on offer this season.

"Yeah it is [the best I’ve been driving in my career]. It’s on a regular basis, which is good and I feel great about it. I would think this is the best. I’m just getting everything out of the car," Jordan continued.

This is the best I’ve been driving in the championship. Equally, I’ve got the car to do it so you need to perform when you’ve got the car to do so.

"We’ll go to some tracks where we won’t quite get the setup right and you’ve got to maximise what you’ve got. That’s what we’ve done. As it works out, maximising what we’ve got is four out of six wins. It’s mad I’ve won five races out of twelve and I’ve finished nine.

"It could be that I don’t win another race but we’re strong at the moment."
