Cammish leads Plato in second BTCC practice

Honda driver Dan Cammish pips Jason Plato to set the practice pace for the second session in a row ahead of British Touring Car Championship qualifying later this afternoon at Snetterton.

Cammish produced a time just 0.1s slower than he managed during the morning session to beat two-time champion Plato by just 0.017s by the end of the running.

While Cammish and Plato ended the session virtually neck and neck, the next fastest car proved to be over 0.3s off the ultimate pace.

The car in question was the AmD Honda Civic Type R of Sam Tordoff in third position, who in turn was 0.2s faster than the BTC Racing Honda of Chris Smiley in fourth.

Tom Ingram was fifth fastest for Team Toyota GB ahead of former three-time champion Matt Neal in sixth.

Motorbase Performance's Tom Chilton conjured up another top-ten performance to end his practice running with the seventh fastest time, while Adam Morgan, Andrew Jordan and Jake Hill completed the remainder of the top-ten order in eighth, ninth and tenth.

Team BMW's Colin Turkington once again himself outside of the top-ten on maximum ballast after setting a time good enough for 13th fastest.
