Cammish tops drying opening Thruxton practice
Honda driver Dan Cammish topped a drying British Touring Car Championship practice session ahead of Subaru's Ashley Sutton at Thruxton.
With heavy rainfall hitting the venue last night, the opening 40-minute practice began in slightly damp conditions. However, the times gradually tumbled as the track conditions continued to improve.
Having picked up five podiums during the last three BTCC meetings, Cammish looks set to continue his rich vein of form after the Team Dynamics driver sent his Honda Civic Type R to the top of timesheets with a 1'16.888s lap.

Having picked up five podiums during the last three BTCC meetings, Cammish looks set to continue his rich vein of form after the Team Dynamics driver sent his Honda Civic Type R to the top of timesheets with a 1'16.888s lap.
That lap was good enough to remain 0.174s ahead of Sutton, who made a late surge up the order after setting a 1'17.062s, despite the Subaru Levorg's lack of the straight-line speed.
BTC Racing's Josh Cook set the third quickest ahead of BMW Pirtek Racing's Andrew Jordan in fourth. Jordan proved unstoppable during the BTCC's earlier visit to Thruxton this season after the 2013 champion took a double victory, which propelled the BMW driver back into the thick of the title fight.
Thruxton specialist Adam Morgan was the fastest Mercedes A-Class runner in fifth position ahead of factory Honda driver Matt Neal in sixth.
Fresh off the back of the Toyota Corolla's strongest weekend of the season so far at Snetterton, Tom Ingram was seventh quickest for the Speedworks outfit, ahead of Team BMW's Tom Oliphant, Ciceley Motorsport's Dan Rowbottom and championship leader Colin Turkington, who completed the remainder of the top-ten in eighth, ninth and tenth.
