Jordan keeps Turkington at bay for race two win

BMW Pirtek Racing's Andrew Jordan has made it two victories from two starts at Thruxton after winning the second British Touring Car Championship race of the day ahead of team mate Colin Turkington.

The 2013 BTCC champion started the second race from pole position and led every lap despite his West Surrey Racing team mate Turkington breathing down his neck for the vast majority of the race.

With the gap hovering at around 0.5s between the BMW pairing, Turkington did attempt to line Jordan up for an overtake on a number of occasions, but could never get close enough to make a serious move.

As a result, Jordan crossed the 0.6s ahead of the defending champion to become the most winning driver of the season so far with three victories.

Honda's Dan Cammish scored his second podium of the day after getting the better of AmD Tuning's Sam Tordoff for third position earlier in the race.

The pair made contact during the final chicane, which saw Cammish move ahead of his Honda counterpart, with two-time champion Jason Plato almost capitalising on the altercation back in fifth.

Plato did eventually get past Tordoff on the ninth lap of the race, while three-time champion Matt Neal shuffled the AmD Tuning driver a position further down the order to sixth.

Neal then began to put his long-time rival Plato under increasing pressure, but the Vauxhall Astra driver prevailed against the Honda to record his best BTCC finish since Croft last season in fourth.

Tordoff consolidated sixth behind Plato and Neal, while Rory Butcher followed his team mate home in seventh.

Team Toyota GB's Tom Ingram broke into the top-ten for the first time this weekend with an eighth place finish ahead of Rob Collard and Josh Cook in ninth and tenth.
