BMW Pirtek Racing's Andrew Jordan makes it two victories from two after winning the second British Touring Car Championship race of the day ahead of team mate Colin Turkington at Croft.
As in the first race, Jordan led every lap from pole position, but this time had to contend with being hunted down by his BMW team mate and championship leader Turkington.
By the end of lap six, Jordan enjoyed a near six-second lead ahead of Turkington after latter of the duo spent the opening laps mired behind the BTC Racing Honda of Chris Smiley, who valiantly defended his position in second.
Turkington eventually broke Smiley's resolve with a spectacular overtake around the outside of the Honda on the approach to the Jim Clark Esses.
From that moment on, Turkington began to lap over 0.5s quicker than his BMW stablemate to rapidly eat into Jordan's once healthy advantage.
However, the defending champion ultimately ran out of laps with Jordan crossing the line 1.1s ahead of Turkington to record his fifth victory of the 2019 season.
Such was the pace of the leading BMWs, Dan Cammish completed the podium order in third a full 11 seconds behind Jordan and Turkington.
Three-time champion Matt Neal followed his Honda team mate home in fourth, while Ashley Sutton completed the remainder of the top-five order for Subaru in fifth.
Sutton had looked set to finish in sixth behind Smiley, but contact between the pair at the penultimate sent the Honda driver into a spin and down the order to 26th.
Power Maxed Racing's Jason Plato was the first to profit from Smiley's demise to finish in sixth ahead of Tom Ingram and Josh Cook in seventh and eighth.
A first lap tangle with Tom Oliphant relegated Tom Chilton to a ninth place finish but the Motorbase Performance driver will start race three from pole position after his number was chosen in the reverse grid draw.
Aiden Moffat completed the top-ten order in tenth.
