F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023 - As it happened

He's dropped behind Russell and Verstappen now.

Perez, Stroll, Leclerc, Sainz, Russell, Verstappen, Alonso, Zhou, Gasly, Piastri, Albon, Ocon, Sargeant, Magnussen, Hulkenberg, Bottas, Hamilton, Ricciardo and Tsunoda.

Leclerc rejoins ahead of his teammate in third, crucially well ahead of Russell and Verstappen.

His tyres will take some time to warm-up though. 

Leclerc comes into the pit lane for his first stop of the race.

Leclerc has stayed out on his mediums, but he's running slowly as Perez closes in.

Perez is 13.7s off the lead currently so I wouldn't rule him out, particularly as he's made a pit stop already.

Leclerc, Perez, Ocon, Stroll, Sainz, Alonso, Zhou, Russell, Verstappen, Gasly, Albon, Bottas, Piastri, Sargeant, Hulkenberg, Tsunoda, Hamilton and Ricciardo.

After his earlier put stop - and Verstappen's penalty - Russell has undercut the Red Bull driver.

He's running slowly after contact with Piastri.

Leclerc leads the race again - he breezes by with the use of DRS.

Verstappen comes in to serve his penalty.

He's running just 0.5s behind the Red Bull driver currently. 

He's now in DRS range of Verstappen.

Leclerc has responded to Verstappen pace, with the gap at 1.9s. 

He's overtaken the two Haas cars now - he's up to ninth overall. 

Verstappen, Leclerc, Russell, Gasly, Albon, Sargeant, Ocon, Magnussen, Piastri, Hulkenberg, Hamilton, Zhou, Tsunoda, Ricciardo, Stroll, Perez, Alonso and Bottas.

"That's fine, send them my regards."

He's not bothered by the five-second time penalty. 

He's been given a five-second time penalty for pushing Leclerc off at Turn 1.

The correct decision. 

He's already 1.8s clear of Leclerc at the front, while Russell is 1.3s off the Ferrari man.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix is back underway with Verstappen leading ahead of Leclerc and Russell.

There will no doubt be a lack of tyre temperature on the restart.

Watch out for a few more shunts.

Norris has crashed out. Safety Car deployed.

Verstappen leads into Turn 1 after pushing Leclerc off.
