Italian Grand Prix 2022 - How Verstappen won in Monza

Leclerc pits for mediums and rejoins in third ahead of Ricciardo.

Expect a lot of pit stops if the VSC remains out.

Sainz moves into sixth for Ferrari now. Easy progress for the Spaniard so far.

Verstappen is now just 1.2s behind Leclerc at the front of the field on Lap 11.

Sainz is making great progress from 18th on the grid. He's up to seventh now for Ferrari.

Leclerc's lead is now down to 1.5s on Lap 10.

Verstappen has cut Leclerc's lead down to 1.7s.

Perez has stopped for new hards but his front-right brakes are overheating it seems. Smoking for the Mexican.

The order on Lap 7: Leclerc, Verstappen, Russell, Ricciardo, Gasly, Norris, Alonso, de Vries, Zhou and Sainz.

Leclerc has responded to Verstappen's pace, upping the gap to 2.1s between the pair.

Sainz moves into 10th; Perez now 13th after their grid penalties.

Verstappen gets past Russell into Turn 1 to go into second, 2.1s off Leclerc now.

Verstappen puts in another fastest lap to move into DRS range of Russell.

DRS is now enabled as we head onto Lap 2.

We're onto Lap 2 and Verstappen is already up to third, overtaking Ricciardo down the start-finish straight.

Leclerc leads into Turn 1 as Russell has to cut the corner. 

Russell in second ahead of Ricciardo, Verstappen, Gasly, Norris, Alonso, de Vries, Zhou and Vettel.

Leclerc lines up on his grid spot. There's quite a wait due to some field spread.
