Rubens Barrichello has confirmed that Felipe Massa appears to be well on the way to recovery after visiting his fellow Brazilian at home during the extended break between Formula One grands prix.
It was a spring from Barrichello's Brawn that landed Massa in hospital with apparent 'life-threatening' injuries after making contact with the Ferrari driver's helmet during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Fortunately, the swift actions of doctors - both at the track and at Budapest's AEK Hospital - and the decision to keep Massa in an induced coma at the start of his recovery, appears to have produced a positive outcome, even if Barrichello confirmed that he should not rush to come back to F1.
"I spent the afternoon with Felipe and he is fine - exactly the same person as before, thank God," Barrichello wrote on his Twitter page, "I loved the afternoon. He was so well and in good spirit - and certainly doesn't lack the will. However, we need to be patient. He has to be 100 per cent before driving again."
