Lewis Hamilton may be edging towards the latter stages of his Formula 1 career, but the four-time world champion still stands out as one of the most spectacular racers in all of global motorsport.

Hamilton was arguably in the form of his life through 2017 as he curbed the threat from Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari to capture a fourth world title, fighting back from a points deficit and a performance disadvantage early in the year to wrap up the championship with two races to spare.

The Briton was at the peak of his powers on-track, leading to questions about just how much better he can get. Mercedes has shown few signs of slowing down at the front of the field, and with stability in the regulations for 2018, it will look to once again lead the way at the front of the field.

While a fifth world title - something achieved just twice before in history - will be the aim for Hamilton in 2018, another point of interest will be just how many more records fall his way. Standing on 62 race wins, will he take another bite out of Michael Schumacher’s statistical superiority?
