Rosbergs demo title-winning F1 cars in Monaco
Nico and Keke Rosberg took part in a demonstration run in their respective Formula 1 title-winning cars around the Monaco Grand Prix circuit on Thursday.
The pair, only the second father-and-son combination to win F1 world championships after Graham and Damon Hill, took to the Monte Carlo streets in their old F1 machinery for a two-lap run following opening practice ahead of this weekend’s race.
Keke was behind the wheel of his 1982 title-winning F1 car - the Williams FW08 - while Nico returned to the cockpit of the Mercedes W07 that took him to his maiden championship crown in 2016.
Running at relatively slow speeds, Keke initially led Nico around the 2.074 mile street circuit, before the father-and-son duo swapped positions on the run to the Nouvelle Chicane having exited the tunnel, with Nico letting off a dramatic puff of smoke as he locked both front tyres under braking.
They returned to the start-finish straight to conclude the demonstration run by parking their respective F1 cars in the slots that mark the front-row of the Monaco grid.
