F1 announces official start times for 2022 season
The calendar features 23 races stretching from Bahrain in March to Abu Dhabi in November.
It’s record-breaking in terms of length with Miami featuring on it for the first time, meaning there is two races in the United States.
For 2022, race weekends have been adjusted to just three days (Friday to Sunday) with media sessions now taking place on Friday.
This means second practice takes place at a later time slot than usual, while the rest of the weekend remains relatively unchanged.
The removal of Thursday is a consequence of the longer race calendar with F1 keen to add more races to the calendar, with Qatar to return in 2023 and the United States potentially hosting a third grand prix in the future.
2022 sees the return of Australia, Japan and Singapore after not featuring in the last two seasons due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
