Oscar Piastri

Oscar Piastri made an explosive start to his F1 career before even driving in a race.

The Australian was at the cente of an ugly tug-of-war between Alpine and McLaren, which the latter won.

Piastri had been a test and reserve driver for Alpine who thought he was contracted with the team to replace Fernando Alonso in 2023. But Piastri had other ideas, signing a deal to debut in F1 with McLaren, a battle that he won.

Adding to the complications... Piastri will replace his fellow Aussie Daniel Ricciardo.
