Crash.net considers the main threats to Lewis Hamilton’s current dominance in Formula 1.

Hamilton heads into the 2020 Formula 1 season as the red-hot favourite for the drivers’ world championship, having won the last three titles on offer.

Now a six-time world champion, the 35-year-old Briton has the chance to continue his and Mercedes’ streak of history in the V6 hybrid era and equal Michael Schumacher’s all-time record of seven drivers’ world championships.

Despite sitting on the verge of history, Hamilton has repeatedly insisted he is not getting carried away with thoughts about matching Schumacher’s long-standing achievements.

"It’s not something I think about,” Hamilton said.

“I always say that numbers are not really a massive thing for me. I plan to be here a little bit longer so hopefully I get there but we shall see.”

Hamilton is at the top of his game and seemingly unbeatable, but is there anyone who can halt his run of success?
