Red Bull F1 junior Lawson tops second day of F2 testing in Bahrain
The Carlin driver ended the day nearly half a second clear of Campos Racing's Ralph Boschung as the temperatures dropped in the evening session at Sakhir.
Lawson took to the top of the timesheets with just 20 minutes to go, with his 1m41.623s a fine effort to take top spot on the second day.
Boschung had taken P1 momentarily before Lawson, finishing second on the timesheets come the chequered flag.
ART Grand Prix's Theo Pourchaire completed the top three after setting an identical lap time to Boschung.
The day was ultimately disrupted by five red flags - three in the morning and two in the afternoon.
Van Amersfoort Racing's Amaury Cordeel caused two red flags, stopping at Turn 8 and then Turn 7 later in the session.
DAMS rookie Ayumu Iwasa caused the second stoppage at Turn 2 shortly after Cordeel's first.
The interruptions continued into the afternoon with Marcus Armstrong clipping the barrier at Turn 8, while the session was then stopped again shortly after due to some repairs on track.
With Lawson, Boschung and Pourchaire completing the top three on day two, Williams F1 academy driver continued his strong form with fourth in the second Carlin.
Jack Doohan completed the top five ahead of teammate Marino Sato.
Mercedes junior Frederik Vesti, Felipe Drugovich, Jehan Daruvala and Richard Verschoor rounded out the top 10.
