Jaguar Racing's British Formula Three drivers, James Courtney and Andre Lotterer, took delivery of their newest cars at Donington Park racing circuit this week.
Two of F3's most colourful performers - Courtney, 21, and Lotterer, 19 - each now have a Jaguar X-Type 2.5 Sport of their own, following in the footsteps of the Premier Performance Division Chief Executive Officer, Niki Lauda, who also took delivery of his X-Type Sport earlier this month.
The X-Type range, priced from ?22,000 on the road, is attracting a new generation of customers to Jaguar and this latest threesome, making up two generations of motorsport champions, are certain to put the vehicle to the ultimate test.
"The one thing that particularly thrills me about the X-Type is its accurately tuned sports suspension set-up," said Niki Lauda, "It gives the car progressive handling characteristics and superb traction."
Lotterer and Courtney, who between them boast a string of karting and Formula Ford titles, have dubbed the X-Type 'a brilliant all-rounder that combines sporty performance and handling with comfort and refinement'.
"It's wicked, as it handles as well on the motorway as it does on a race circuit, but then it's really smooth when you just want to cruise," Lotterer added, "It's sporty yet luxurious."
"The Jaguar 'Traction-4' permanent all-wheel-drive system gives it enormous grip and perfectly controlled dynamics," Lauda confirmed
So far this season, the Jaguar Racing F3 drivers are enjoying success with Courtney winning the championship opener at Silverstone, and scoring points in 16 of the 18 successive races to date; moving him to fourth position in the championship.
Lotterer is also enjoying his maiden Jaguar Racing F3 season with a victory at Donington in April following a fourth position finish in the German F3 championship the previous season. Jaguar's commitment to nurturing potential Formula One drivers of the future was previously demonstrated by Luciano Burti, and both Courtney and Lotterer have already tested the 'full-strength' Jaguar R2 Formula One car this year.
