Newly crowned Avon Tyres British Formula 3 Scholarship Champion Ryan Lewis is relishing a return to the circuit where he enjoyed race victory in last year's FPA race; the stunning Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.

The 20 year-old from Royston, Hertfordshire claims Spa to be his favourite track and although the title is his, is determined to end the season on a high, with double victory on the famous Grand Prix track.

"I can't wait for Spa," said Ryan. "It's my favourite track and I have valuable circuit knowledge from racing there last year. The pressure's off me now so I can go out there and really enjoy the racing without having to worry about vital points. Having said that I still want to go out and win both races.

"I'm glad to have won it before this weekend, because there'll be a lot of extra drivers out this weekend vying for the FIA Formula 3 European Cup, which could potentially cause problems and make things a lot more difficult. "

In addition to the experienced Stephen Jelley and Vasilije Calasan, Ryan will also come up against his main rival from last year, Adam Smith, who Ryan beat to the FPA title. Making his F3 debut in the Scholarship class with Alan Docking Racing, Smith will also be determined to get one over on Ryan and also has track knowledge to his advantage over the rest of the scholarship runners.

"I'd expect Stephen still to be the main opposition at Spa, but Adam has circuit knowledge which should go in his favour, although of course the car will be new to him. I'm looking forward to racing against him again though and I'd have thought he'd be quick straight away and possibly second or third on the grid. Mainly I just aim to go out there and enjoy the weekend and get another two wins under my belt."
