Caldwell completes F3 champions Prema’s line-up for 2021 season
Olli Caldwell will drive for current FIA Formula 3 champions Prema Racing, completing the Italian outfit’s driver line-up for the 2021 season.
The 18-year-old Briton makes the switch from Trident to Prema for his sophomore campaign in FIA F3 after finishing 16th in the 2020 standings, having recorded a total of four top-10 appearances in his rookie years.
Caldwell previously drove for Prema in the 2018 Italian Formula 4 championship, claiming four wins and four pole positions. He remained with the team to contest the 2019 Formula Regional European Championship and went on to take seven podiums and one victory.
"Really excited to announce that I will be competing with Prema in the 2021 FIA F3 Championship," Caldwell said.
"Having competed with the team in previous championships I'm looking forward to putting what I learnt from my rookie year to good use and continuing our history together in FIA F3.”
Caldwell’s signing completes Prema’s 2021 FIA F3 roster, joining the previously announced duo of Arthur Leclerc and Dennis Hauger.
"We look forward to welcoming Olli back to the Prema family," Prema boss Rene Rosin added.
"Having worked with him in the past, we know he has a smart approach and can adapt quickly, which we expect to be a key skill with the challenging season ahead.
"In addition, he knows our work ethics and approach, so he is definitely a good fit for 2021.
"It is always great to see young drivers evolve with us throughout their career, and we are sure Olli will keep up the improvement this season."
