Hauger inherits Austria F3 pole after Collet’s track limits offence

After only managing 14th after the first runs, Collet propelled himself to the top of the timesheets with a 1m19.697s.

He was found to have run wide on his final lap at Turn 10, cancelling his lap in the process and thus dropping him to fourth.

Pole hands Hauger four more points as he extends his lead over Victor Martins in the standings.

The Frenchman could only manage tenth on the grid but will be eyeing a strong result in the first sprint race, with Martins set to start from third as the top 12 on the grid is reversed.

With Collet demoted to fourth, this promoted Frederik Vesti and Aleksandr Smolyar into the top three.

Jak Crawford followed on from his impressive practice pace to qualify fifth.

The American was on course to take top spot on his final run but encountered a gaggle of slow cars in the final sector, ruining his chances of a maiden pole position.

Next up was the two Tridents of Clement Novalak and Jack Doohan, followed by 

Olli Caldwell and Arthur Leclerc, with Martins completing the top ten.

Matteo Nannini and Logan Sargeant rounded out the top 12 and will share the front row in the first sprint race on Saturday morning.

The stewards will be investigating Reshad de Gerus after an unsafe release in the pit lane.

Enzo Fittipaldi being released from his pit box forced Johnathan Hoggard to slow down meaning de Gerus was released from his, he hit the side of Hoggard’s car.

Ido Cohen will start from 30th came to a halt on the start-finish straight with just over eight minutes on the clock, resulting in a brief red flag stoppage.
