Swift Coynes it in.
The Swift chassis is expected to return to the CART championship next weekend in the hands of Brazilian Tarso Marques.
The Californian constructor has done a deal with Dale Coyne's eponymous outfit to run at the Motegi oval in Japan, having cancelled its contract with Gerry Forsythe's Championship Racing team before Long Beach. The car will run in Panasonic colours as originally agreed with Forsythe, but will now have sometime CART driver Marques behind the wheel rather than the intended Bryan Herta.

The car has yet to be shaken down, and has had to be fitted with a Ford XF powerplant rather than the Honda it was designed to accept, but both parties are confident that it can be a competitive proposition - something that Forsythe doubted.
Marques will be tended by a crew from the Swift factory, and lines up alongside Coyne regulars Gualter Salles and Takuya Kurosawa for next Saturday's race.
