In an encouraging development for Ducati and their GP4, Troy Bayliss was in the hunt for a provisional front row for half of this afternoon's opening qualifier at Catalunya.
Having tested both the 2003 and 2004 Desmosedicis during the two days at Mugello, factory Ducati riders Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss have decided to race this year's machine in tomorrow's Italian Grand Prix.
Ducati Marlboro heads to round three of the 2004 MotoGP world championship, the French Grand Prix, believing that the stop-go nature of the Le Mans circuit will suit the so far disappointing Desmosedici GP4.
