Iker Lecuona cut a frustrated figure after day two of the Phillip Island WorldSBK test as he was unable to identify why Honda are struggling.

Jonathan Rea says work is to be done ahead of the 2023 WorldSBK season-opener this weekend, as ‘bumps’ are making the bike feel different compared to November’s visit at Phillip Island.

The Anglo-American, riding a ZX-RR in the wet for the first time, looked to have got the measure of the slick morning conditions as his lap times tumbled - but disaster struck when he got on the gas fractionally too hard at the high-speed first turn, and was catapulted over the handlebars.

And it showed.

"It's gone very well. We spent the days testing new parts, the results are good so now I am just waiting for the race," began Haga, who finished the test sixth fastest but just 0.3secs behind Suzuki's Yukio Kagayama.
