2025 24 Hours of Le Mans as it happened

Live updates from the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans

The 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans begins at 4pm CET on Saturday 14 June.

The showpiece event of the entire endurance racing year, the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans is the 93rd edition of the iconic event held at the Circuit de la Sarthe in mid-June.

Cadillac will be chasing an historic first victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, after it locked out the front row for a maiden pole earlier this week in Hyperpole.

The Jota-run Cadillac's of the No.12 and No.38 cars will lead the field at the start of the race on Saturday and could become the first American manufacturer to win outright at Le Mans since Ford in 1969.

Cadillac - who has four cars on the grid in Hypercar - will face stiff opposition, however, with six manufacturers expected to be in the mix for victory over the next 24 hours.

Last year's winners Ferrari struggled in qualifying, with the 2024 victor No.50 car only seventh, while the No.51 car and the No.83 AF Corse entry 11th and 13th on the grid.

Porsche will be aiming for a 20th victory at Le Mans and the first for Roger Penske, with the Penske Motorsport-run 963s starting from third, fifth and last in class. The No.6 entry was disqualified from Wednesday's qualifying results due to a weight limit infringement.

Toyota goes for a sixth victory at Le Mans on the 40th anniversary of its first visit to the French enduro, though it will do so from far down the grid, in 10th and 16th.

Other marques looking to push themselves into victory contention are BMW and Alpine, while returning Aston Martin and the Peugeot entries look set for a tough race.

Three classes will be on track, with the LMP2 field led off the line by the No.29 TDS Racing entry, while LMGT3 is headed by the No.27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin.

The race runs from 4pm CET Saturday 14 June to 4pm CET on Sunday 15 June, and is a double points round in the World Endurance Championship.

11:28

The No.51 Ferrari now leads by 41s from the No.83, which has Robert Kubica behind the wheel again.

Green flags are out again.

11:27

Ferrari have used this slow zone phase to box the No.50 and the No.83, while the No.6 Porsche is also in.

11:26

Lovely stuff from the crowd around the Le Mans circuit. Big rounds of applause for the IDEC team after the No.28 car dropped out.

11:23

The Slow zone has been brought out. Lots of tears in the IDEC garage. That's a heartbreaker with just over three and a half hours to go.

11:22

The No.28 IDEC Sport car that was third in LMP2 lost a wheel down at the La Chapelle section and is beached in the gravel.

Yellow flags are out.

11:19

The No.8 Toyota is back out on track now. It's almost 10 laps down, but the team wants to get that car to the finish.

11:13

The No.43 Inter Europol car continues to lead LMP2 ahead of the No.48 VDS Panis Racing car after recent pitstops.

Nick Yelloly is behind the wheel of the No.43 entry that has just been so strong in this race.

LMGT3 is still going the way of the Manthey Porsche squad, with Riccardo Pera 55s clear of the No.21 Vista AF Corse Ferrari.

11:03

The No.8 Toyota has been wheeled into the garage.

11:01
2025 24 Hours of Le Mans - Hour 21

The big news coming into hour 21 at Le Mans is the No.51 car will face no further action following his spin at pit-entry. That car is third right now, 46s off the lead.

11:00

The No.8 has finally made it back to the pits. But any hopes of a podium have totally gone now. Tough, tough event for the Japanese marque this year.

10:57

The No.8 Toyota is now under investigation for an unsafe release due to that wheel issue.

10:56

That releases the No.83 back into the lead with Yifei Ye at the front by 36s from the No.50 Ferrari with Nicklas Nielsen behind the wheel.

Porsche is fourth with Laurens Vathoor now in the No.6, 53s off the lead.

The No.12 Jota Cadillac completes the top five as the 20th hour comes to a close.

10:54

Pier Guidi is out of the No.51, James Calado climbs in. Fuel and tyres going onto that car.

10:53

The No.51 Ferrari has pitted from the lead.

10:52

That Toyota has a whole lap to get back to the pits.

Replay shows the wheel wasn't properly on somehow. The wheelnut comes off as it hit the brakes, with the tyre then blowing.

10:50
Incident - No.8

The No.8 Toyota has suffered a puncture going into the Dunlop chicane. That car is driving very slowly. Ryo Hirakawa is driving and he was was just in the pits.

10:48

The No.51 is being told to box for a driver change and new tyres in two laps.

10:47

Race leader is in. The No.83 takes on fuel. No new tyres going on, though. Rejoins third. No.51 leads now.

10:43

No.50 is in the pits from second. Molina is out, Nielsen is in. Fuel going in and some tyres going on.

10:37

The No.92 Manthey Porsche is in the pits from the lead. All seems to be running smoothly for that car.

The DNF for the No.46 BMW has unfortunately, I fear, robbed us of a good battle for the win in that class. But this is the ultimate endurance event and that Porsche has so far been bulletproof.

10:25

No change in LMP2 as the No.43 Inter Europol car still leads by well over a minute now. The No.92 Manthey Porsche still tops LMGT3.

10:18

No.83 leads on lap 309 by 21s from the No.50, while the No.51 is a few seconds further back, and the No.6 Porsche is not far behind either.

10:12

The No.83 leads now from the No.50. And the No.51 is under investigation for crossing the pit-entry line!

10:10

The No.51 had come in a lap ago for emergency fuel under the FCY. So this was his proper stop and he's made a huge error.

Told you there would be some drama!

10:10
Incident - No.51 Ferrari

The No.51 Ferrari has gone off at pit-entry and spun round!
