British ISDE Team all ready for Slovakia
While the focus of the motocross worlds is firmly on the end of the GP season and the forthcoming Motocross of Nations, for the enduro boys, it's all about the ISDE.
While the focus of the motocross worlds is firmly on the end of the GP season and the forthcoming Motocross of Nations, for the enduro boys, it's all about the ISDE.
With just a few days before they fly out to Slovakia, the ten strong British team are getting last minute plans finalised and spending vital time with their bikes prior to the competition. The trophy team is headed up by enduro legend David Knight, supported by Tom Sagar, Jamie Lewis, Jamie McCanney, Joe Wootton and Jack Rowland. The Junior team is James Dent, Josh Gotts, Rob Johnson and Lee Sealey and just like their MXoN team counterparts, selection to represent their country is a huge honour.
For triple enduro champion David Knight, the event marks 10 years since his first Six Days Enduro win in 2005, also in Slovakia. The world renowned rider will be hoping for a good result for all the team, but will also be aiming for the outright E2 class victory.
The ISDE this year comes from Slovak Ore mountains in the Kosice Region of south east Slovakia and is 90th edition of the competition that started way back in 1913. Over 550 rider from 35 countries will compete over 100km of tough off-road going in what is one of the most challenging multi-day events in the calendar. Each team sends six trophy riders and four junior riders and while the British hold the record for the most wins, it's the French who have dominated in recent years winning four of the past five years in the trophy class and three of five in the juniors.
