Pichon to undergo knee operation.
After his heavy fall during race one of last weekend's Grand Prix of Italy, former world champion Mickael Pichon underwent an examination on his left knee - which he injured badly at Gaildorf in 2003.
The examination revealed that the Frenchman will have to undergo yet another operation to improve the strength of the ligaments. The news, while bitterly disappointing, wasn't a complete shock to the Honda rider who has suffered pain from the joint for months - but had been hoping to finish the season before an operation.

The date of the operation - and expected recovery time - is not yet known, but Pichon will race at his home French Grand Prix, on June 26, prior to surgery, since he has been told that racing one more time is unlikely to make the injury any worse.
