Ai Ogura received a late long-lap penalty for exceeding track limits while in a close second place just behind Marco Bezzecchi, but the Japanese then cut across the white line as he rejoined the track and received a further three-second post-race penalty.

Aron Canet then picked up the fight and hunted down Bezzecchi in the closing laps, but the Italian hung on for his first Moto2 victory of the season during a rare off-day for Ajo riders Remy Gardner and Raul Fernandez...
