Qatar MotoGP: LIVE UPDATES from Friday Practice at Losail

Fernandez finishes fastest ahead of Di Giannantonip, Vinales, Brad Binder and Aleix Espargaro. 

Correction: Vinales has lost top spot due to setting his time under yellow flag conditions. 

Martin goes sixth as Vinales sets a new all-time lap record.

Pol Espargaro has crashed at turn 16. Bagnaia has improved but will lose that lap due to yellow flags at the final corner. 

There's just five minutes to go as Martin begins his final run. 

Fernandez goes quickest for RNF Aprilia while Martin and Bagnaia both move into the top five. 

Bagnaia is next up to being his time attack run and he has Marc Marquez for company. 

We're into the 1m 52s barrier as Fabio Di Giannantonio has gone well clear of Vinales. 

He does. Vinales goes six tenths clear of Miguel Oliveira. 

Vinales has fitted a new soft rear tyre and is about to destroy his fastest lap. 

Johann Zarco is the next rider to crash. The French rider has gone down at the same turn as Miller. 

Martin is a very frustrated rider at the moment. He will be heading out on his second bike  during his next stint. 

Martin's second stint has not yielded a better position as he remains stuck in 22nd. 

Jack Miller has crahsed in sector four. 

Maverick Vinales is your new leader after setting a time of 1:54.148s.

Lap times are on the verge of reaching the 1m 53s barrier as R.Fernandez leads the way. 

The grip is really ramping up as lap times are already quicker than FP1. 

MotoGP Practice 2 in Lusail is underway.

Welcome back to Friday practice in Qatar. Coming up at 17:00 UK time is MotoGP Practice 2. 

Martin leads a Pramac Ducati 1-2 in FP1, with Bagnaia third, Raul Fernandez P4 and Morbidelli fifth. 

Martin goes top as Augusto Fernandez has crashed after also setting a red sector three. 

Martin moves into second after missing out on top spot by +0.007s. 

Di Giannantonio goes quicker again and is over a second clear of Bagnaia.
