This is how the Aragon sprint race unfolded.

Marquez wins Aragon Sprint

It's victory for Marc Marquez in Aragon, his first win on a Ducati, and his first in a Sprint, his first win of any kind in almost three years. Martin takes second, and Acosta third.

14:21
Lap 10/11

One lap to go for Marquez, who is almost four seconds clear. Martin almost three seconds ahead of Martin, who is almost 3.5 clear of Acosta.

14:19
Lap 9/11

Onto the penultimate lap now and Marquez' lead approaching four seconds. Martin and Acosta are assured in second and third, while Bagnaia is just about holding onto eighth ahead of Quartararo.

14:17
Lap 8/11

Marquez' lead over three seconds now. A battle between Quartararo and Bagnaia has let Bastianini into seventh. Bagnaia now eighth.

14:15
Lap 7/11

Marquez leading by over two seconds now, as Bastianini is now up to ninth.

14:14
Lap 6/11

Bagnaia is in big trouble here. He's wide in turn 14 and Binder's through into 6th. Quartararo and Raul Fernandez on his tail now.

14:12
Lao 5/11

Marquez now 1.5 seconds clear of Martin, and Bagnaia's situation doesn't seem to be improving - Binder still all over him.

14:10
Lap 4/11

Bagnaia back to sixth now, and under pressure from Binder. It's possible his spin off the line has left him without grip for the remainder of this race.

14:09
Lap 3/11

Bagnaia nearly two seconds behind Acosta now, and not pulling away from Alex Marquez. Marc Marquez is pulling away from Martin at the front,  who in turn is establishing a gap to Acosta.

14:06
Lap 2/11

Bagnaia has passed Alex Marquez for fourth, but the front three are almost 1.5 seconds ahead of him now. Marquez still leads from Martin, Acosta.

14:05
Bagnaia start

Davide Tardozzi said before hte race he was worries about Bagnaia starting from the dirty side of the grid. It has come to pass, and now Bagnaia will be concerned about rear grip having spun his tyre significantly off the line, and rig he doesn't seem to have the pace to go with the leading four.

14:03

Aleix Espargaro's down at the first turn. He seems to be okay.

14:03
Sprint start

We're away in Aragon, and it's Marc Marquez who made the holeshot. A strong start for Jorge Martin, too - he's second, and Pecco Bagnaia is down to sixth after a terrible launch.

14:00
Warm-up lap

We're getting closer to lights out in Aragon now, and the warm-up lap is underway.

13:54

The KTMs should also be in the mix. The reduction in grip overnight seemed to help them almost as much as it hurt Aprilia. Pedro Acosta starts from second, and Brad Binder seventh, so could get themselves in the mix.

13:52

Between Bagnaia and Martin, it was tough to call on race pace on Friday. Aleix Espargaro had strong soft-tyre pace, too, but starts 11th after a disastrous qualifying for Aprilia.

13:51

Around 10 minutes to go until the Sprint gets underway, and with Marquez having been convincigly fastest in every session so far, it feels like it will be a battle for second.

13:45
Sighting lap

The pit lane is open in Aragon, and with around 15 minutes until the race start the riders head out for their sighting lap.

13:38

Marc Marquez starts on pole for the Sprint having dominated Q2 to take his second pole position of the season by 0.8 seconds.

13:33
Sprint

Welcome back to live coverage of the Aragon MotoGP. We're around half-an-hour away now from the Sprint at MotorLand, scheduled to start at 15:00 local time.

10:33
Q2 chequered flag

The flag's out for Q2, and Marc Marquez has his second pole of the season by 0.840 seconds over Pedro Acosta. Pecco Bagnaia rounds out the front row with Jorge Martin in fourth. Total disaster for Aprilia, only Miguel Oliveira got within two seconds of Marquez, and both factory riders are behind Johann Zarco: Maverick Vinales 11th, Aleix Espargaro 12th.
