PIC: Valentino Rossi saved by brake protector
Handlebar brake protector does its job during Valentino Rossi-Dani Pedrosa contact in Qatar.
Look closely at this image and you will see Valentino Rossi's front brake lever protector has been forced upwards, due to contact with Dani Pedrosa early in last Sunday's Qatar MotoGP season-opener.
Handlebar brake lever protection was made mandatory for the start of the 2012 season, to prevent accidents like this for Sete Gibernau in 2006.
Rossi, who later said he would have crashed without the brake lever protection, went on to finish in second place on his Yamaha MotoGP return.
