Criville crashes, girlfriend ordered home.
Two years ago Spaniard Alex Criville won the World 500cc Championship after finishing sixth in the Rio race. Two years later his return to Brazil was not so happy.
His girlfriend was involved in an argument with an immigration official at Rio de Janeiro airport. She was told she must return to Madrid on the next flight and would not be allowed into Brazil. After a four-hour delay she was finally allowed into the country after an apology to the official involved.

Criville's miserable weekend continued on Friday when he crashed, without injury, in the morning practice session (pictured). The Spaniard was making his last appearance as a HRC rider, and went on to finish a credible seventh in his last outing for his Repsol sponsored team in Saturday's race.
Criville has not yet announced his plans for the future, but could be the Ducati test rider in their MotoGP project.
