WATCH: Jorge Lorenzo stuns with success on Masked Singer talent show
A three-time MotoGP World Champion and seemingly a talented singer too, Jorge Lorenzo revealed he is a man with talents off a motorcycle after ending up as a finalist on the Spanish version of the Masked Singer talent show.
Dressed as a flamboyant Cuervo (Crow), an incognito Lorenzo impressed judges enough to get all the way to the final where he was eventually unmasked in fourth position.
For those not so familiar with the show - which originated in Korea before the format swept across the globe - famous figures in all manner of wacky and ostentatious outfits croon their way through various songs over the course of a series.
When judges decide on which acts were least impressive that week, they attempt to guess the identity of the singer before they reveal all.
Performing on the inaugural series of the Spanish version named Adivina quien canta, in the five weeks preceding the final with nobody knowing he was performing, Lorenzo was at risk in only one of those weeks and succeeded to qualifying automatically in the other four.
Tracks performed included ‘Morado’ by J Balvin, ‘Walk of Life’ by Dire Straits and ‘Besos’ by El Canto del Loco, with his rendition of ‘Piu Bella Cosa’ by Eros Ramazzotti eventually seeing him ousted in fourth.
Branding it ‘a unique and unforgettable experience’, Lorenzo - who is still out of work at this moment after he wasn't retained by Yamaha as a test rider - and his efforts may well top Carl Fogarty’s victory on ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here…’
