Marquez returns to the top during a dry final practice for the Aragon MotoGP.
Mir and Espargaro both had big falls, the Suzuki rookie was unhurt but KTM's Espargaro needed a stretcher after his nasty highside.
Qualifying 1, for those outside the top ten after third free practice, will now get underway.
Zarco has been replaced by KTM test rider Kallio for the remainder of the season. Smith is making his final wild-card of the year for Aprilia.
