Mexico to host Race of Champions in 2019

The Race of Champions will make its first visit to Latin America in 2019 after Mexico City was announced as the host for next year's event, which will take place at the Foro Sol amphitheatre at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit.

Following the 2018 running in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Race of Champions will now venture to Mexico City on January 19-20, pitting drivers from a number of different motorsport disciplines up against each other in identical machinery.

The Race of Champions will once again be split over two days, with drivers working in teams to compete for the Nations Cup before then going head-to-head in the individual Race of Champions event, of which David Coulthard is the reigning champion.

The event will also welcome a number of Mexican drivers, who will compete in front of a home crowd at the Foro Sol, which forms the stadium section at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, the host circuit for the Mexican Grand Prix.
