Richards keeps #11 as entry list revealed.
Steven Richards has been allowed to retain his familiar #11 for the forthcoming V8 Supercar Championship Series, following a resolution to a complicated process that has finalised the season's official entry list.
Steven Richards has been allowed to retain his familiar #11 for the forthcoming V8 Supercar Championship Series, following a resolution to a complicated process that has finalised the season's official entry list.
Richards was in danger of losing the cherished number following team boss Larry Perkins' decision to sell his two 'level one' franchise licences and then return to racing under leasing arrangements. However, following discussions and agreements between Perkins, the Wright Patton Shakespeare team and Brad Jones Racing, Richards has been allowed to retain the number that was used by Perkins throughout his own driving career.
While Team Perkins Racing utilises the #11, Brad Jones Racing will run #12 and #21 for John Bowe and Brad Jones respectively, and the WPS squad uses #8 for new signing Craig Baird and #48 for David Besnard.
Elsewhere on the list, double champion Marcos Ambrose will carry the #1 plate, while Stone Brothers' team-mate Russell Ingall keeps his regular #9 despite finishing as runner-up in 2004. Mark Skaife will use the #2 on his HRT Holden, alongside the #22 of team-mate Todd Kelly.
