Canadian driver Tagliani surprised many during his opening stint of the first two hour practice session before he then went on to record the quickest time for the day in the #8 Falcon on his final lap of the closing 30 minute afternoon session.

"I'm feeling very pleased after today's sessions," he said. "It's been a long week leading up to this and I was really amazed by how comfortable I felt in the car. I got my first look at the track yesterday and after today I think I've got a good measure of everything.
"I'm sure with a few more laps I can improve and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the weekend."
The #48 Wright Patton Shakespeare supported entry also finished strongly as David Besnard piloted the car into a respectable top 20 position on his 41st and final lap of the initial two hour session.
Besnard and regular WPS Racing team-mate Craig Baird will share the car for the endurance events and both are quietly confident of delivering the desired results.
"There's still a lot of racing this weekend and it's been quite a good lead up to this particular race for both of us," Besnard said. "As a driver there's always a lot more intensity surrounding these endurance events and both Bairdo and I realise we'll need to be on our game come race day.
"We're easing into this and will give it a good shot during qualifying tomorrow and then aim up to do well for each other on Sunday."
