2025 Emilia-Romagna WorldSBK: Race 2 LIVE UPDATES

Live coverage of Race 2 from the 2025 Emilia-Romagna WorldSBK at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

Race 2 at the 2025 Emilia-Romagna WorldSBK is set to get underway at 14:00 local time.

Toprak Razgatlioglu will start from pole position after winning the Superpole Race this morning.

Alex Lowes and Andrea Locatelli will complete the front row.

Alvaro Bautista has a much better starting position for Race 2 in fifth place, having qualified 11th in Superpole yesterday. Danilo Petrucci and Sam Lowes complete an all-Ducati second row.

Jonathan Rea's grid position for Race 2 is also much improved over his 16th-placed qualifying thanks to a seventh in the Superpole Race. Remy Gardner and Iker Lecuona complete the third row.

World Championship leader Nicolo Bulega will start from 10th thanks to a combination of his pole position in Superpole and his crash in the Superpole Race with Axel Bassani, who will start alongside him in 11th.

Bulega's Superpole Race crash was his second of Sunday after falling of his own accord in Warm Up at turn 15.

Race 2

Welcome back to live coverage of today's action from the Emilia-Romagna WoldSBK, where Race 2 will be coming up in just under 20 minutes at 14:00 local time.

10:20

Just a correction from earlier in the race, it was Tarran Mackenzie who crashed out on the MIE Honda, not Zaqhwan Zaidi, who finished 18th.

10:16
Toprak Razgatlioglu wins Misano Superpole Race

It's Superpole Race success for Toprak Razgatlioglu in Misano. His 65th WorldSBK win and taken in fine style.

Alex Lowes takes the first podium for the Bimota KB998, and Andrea Locatelli holds off Danilo Petrucci for third - the Italians actually separated by over a second at the line.

10:15
Lap 9/10

Over three seconds now for Razgatlioglu, who probably can't believe his luck at the moment although he probably won't admit that afterwards.

Sam Lowes was able to pass Rea on that lap for P6.

10:13
Lap 8/10

Over two seconds now for Razgatlioglu. Lowes 2s clear of Locatelli, too, and Locatelli hanging onto third with two to go.

Rea now battling with Sam Lowes for P6, Bautista breaking away from them in fifth.

10:12
Montella OUT

Montella has crashed out at the final corner on lap seven. He was battling with Lecuona for ninth.

10:10
Lap 6/10

Bautista able to get through on Gardner at Tramonto on lap six there. Rea dropped Gardner back to seventh, then Sam Lowes pushed him back to eighth. Not the best lap of Misano in the Australian's career, though he's had worse if you remember back to Warm Up at one of the 2020 Moto2 GPs.

10:09
Lap 5/10

1.7s now for Razgatlioglu. Lowes equally secure in second.

But Locatelli and Petrucci are tight for third.

Gardner battling with Bautista, Rea, and Sam Lowes for fourth.

10:07
Lap 4/10

1.2s now for Razgatlioglu but Lowes also has 1.7s back to Locatelli in third and looking solid.

Zaqhwan Zaidi has crashed out.

10:06
Lap 3/10

Razgatlioglu's lead up to a second over Lowes.

Bulega back to the Ducati  box now. He's fine, just frustrated. He'll also lose grid position for Race 2 later.

10:04
Lap 2/10

Razgatlioglu pushes the pace on lap two. He's into the 1:32s and over half-a-second clear of Lowes in second.

Locatelli leading the battle for third ahead of Petrucci who who just passed Gardner.

10:02
Lap 1/10

Razgatlioglu leads from Alex Lowes. The BMW rider has the development SCX tyre that he won Race 1 with yesterday. Bulega picked that rear tyre, too, but most the rest of the field - including Lowes - has the  development SCQ.

10:01
Bulega OUT

Bulega out after contact with Axel Bassani in the first corner. Razgatlioglu leads from Lowes early on lap one.

09:58
Warm-up lap

The riders are off on their warm-up lap ahead of the Superpole Race at Misano.

09:57
Battle for third

If the race goes as yesterday, Razgatlioglu and Bulega will be cleared off at the front, but the battle for third should be intense.

Alvaro Bautista didn't come through as expected yesterday but could get himself in the mix.

Danilo Petrucci was third yesterday from eighth on the grid but it's not been an easy weekend for the Italian.

Alex Lowes matched Bimota's best result in fourth yesterday and a podium is a real possibility this weekend.

The same is true of his teammate Axel Bassani, who starts from the front row again today but crashed yesterday on lap two.

09:54
Aegerter OUT

Dominique Aegerter is out of today's races after being declared unfit yesterday following his crash with Bahattin Sofuoglu at turn eight on the opening lap.

09:52
Razgatlioglu looking to double up

Misano might be a home race for Ducati but it's always been a strong track for Toprak Razgatlioglu.

The Turkish rider won yesterday and did the treble last year.

He also won the Superpole Race here in 2022; then, it was his first race win of the season.

09:49
Bulega on pole

Nicolo Bulega starts from pole this morning. Of course, he started 4th yesterday despite being fastest in Superpole as a result of a penalty for impeding Danilo Petrucci; that penalty does not apply to today's two races and so Bulega takes pole position for the Superpole Race.

The Italian crashed this morning in Warm Up at turn 15, but was relatively unharmed and will take the start this morning.
