FIRST LOOK: Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes present 2021 Kawasaki
Six-time World Superbike Champion Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes showcase first images of the new Kawasaki bike ahead of the 2021 WorldSBK season.
The team's new livery remains similar to the 2020 colours, but includes added inspiration from their 1990s liveries.
Kawasaki became the fourth manufacturer to present their 2021 bike after Ducati, Honda and Yamaha.
The Kawasaki Racing Team presented the new bike in an online presentation in Barcelona ahead of the first Official WorldSBK test.
Rea and Lowes return with the team for their second season together as team-mates, while competitors Ducati and Yamaha have new line-ups.
Ducati were once again Kawasaki’s main challengers for the title last season with Scott Redding, but with BMW bringing their new M 1000 RR bike and Honda going into their second full season as a factory outfit, competition should be even stiffer in 2021.
Rea and Lowes have already had various testing opportunities, with November and March providing track action in Portimao and Jerez.
Kawasaki has upgraded its engine for this season, while a new front fairing has also been one their major updates.
The 2021 WorldSBK campaign will begin at Aragon in May, as the traditional season opener in Phillip Island has been pushed back until the end of the year due to travel restrictions.
The entire grid will get to measure themselves against one another during a two-day Official test starting today at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
