The victory looked to be between Aegerter and Odendaal, but the South African sat up on the penultimate lap heading into turn five.

Luca Bernardi took his first podium of the season with second place, ahead of Philipp Oettl who took his second rostrum of the weekend.

Raffaele De Rosa crashed from the lead with three laps to go, while Jules Cluzel also crashed from fifth position a lap later.
