Full WSS FP1 results from Misano

Federico Caricasulo has led an all-Yamaha front three in the opening free practice session at Misano as World Supersport returns to action.

With the championship taking its accustomed one-round break with World Superbike heading to Laguna Seca last month, the Italian Caricasulo has started fastest on home turf at Misano to lead the GRT Yamaha challenge.

Caricasulo’s 1m 38.204s saw him take out a quarter of a second on nearest rival Jules Cluzel for NRT Yamaha while defending World Supersport champion Lucas Mahias was a fraction back in third place.

Raffaelle De Rosa has continued his promising surge in results by taking fourth place in the session for MV Agusta ahead Brno-poleman Sandro Cortese on the Kallio Racing Yamaha.

Kyle Smith led the Honda charge for CIA Landlords Insurance Honda in sixth place having switched to Simon Buckmaster’s last time out at Brno, with Anthony West in seventh on the EAB Racing Kawasaki.

Wildcard rider Stefano Valtulini caught the eye for Pleo Racing Kawasaki by breaking into the top ten in FP1 ahead of Randy Krummenacher (Bardahl Evan Bro Yamaha) and fellow wildcard rider Marco Bussolotti (Team Rosso-Corsa Yamaha).
