Federico Caricasulo has kept hold of top spot after the second free practice was curtailed early by rain, but GRT Yamaha teammate Lucas Mahias did make the most of the early dry conditions to move up to second.
With the opening 10 minutes held in dry conditions, Mahias was one of just six riders to produce personal lap time improvements from FP1 to see the defending World Supersport champion produce a GRT Yamaha 1-2 behind teammate Caricasulo.
As drops of rain set in all riders opted not to risk going out in mixed conditions which saw the majority of the second session lost to the weather.
As a result, the order at the top from FP1 didn’t change too much with Jules Cluzel in third place for NRT Yamaha and Raffele De Rosa in fourth place for MV Agusta.
Kallio Racing Yamaha’s Sandro Cortese did improve on his FP1 time but remained in fifth place.
The remainder of the top 10 remained unchanged from the morning session with Kyle Smith (CIA Landlord Insurance Honda), Anthony West (EAB Racing Kawasaki), Stefano Valtulini (Pleo Racing Team Kawasaki), Randy Krummenacher (Bardahl Evan Bros Yamaha) and Marco Bussolotti (Team Rosso-Corsa Yamaha) taking the automatic spots into Superpole 2.
