Augusto Farfus admits he is 'really angry' with himself after spectacularly rolling in qualifying for the fourth round of the World Touring Car Championship at Pau.

The Brazilian, already qualifying in the knowledge that he would incur a ten place grid penalty, brought the session to a very abrupt halt at the end when he ran wide coming into Virage Foch.

Swiping the barrier with the rear-end of his BMW 320si, Farfus proceeded to clip the grass verge, which in turn flipped him up against the tyres at the following chicane and turned him over. Landing on his roof, Farfus slid to a halt upside down, but while the Brazilian came away unharmed, he was otherwise furious with himself.

"I'm okay - but really angry with myself," he said. "I'm the one to blame for this accident. At the end of qualifying I just pushed to hard, and unfortunately it went wrong. I lost the rear of my car, hit the barriers and then got onto the grass hill with one wheel, which finally caused the roll. However, BMW builds extremely safe cars!"

Looking ahead to the race, one he will have to start from 13th after having his penalty added onto the third fastest time he had achieved, Farfus merely hopes BMW will be able to repair his car in time for the first event.

"I hope that the team will manage to repair the car. We have been doing very well here so far. This track isn't the best for the BMWs but all weekend I have felt happy with the car so tomorrow I will try for some points...my fingers are crossed the car will be fixed overnight."
