JTR's Tom Wrigley has clinched an impressive maiden Porsche Carrera Cup GB pole position after producing a sensational lap in qualifying at Oulton Park.
Ahead of today, Wrigley had qualified sixth in every session so far. However, the JTR driver improved on his Saturday form in emphatic fashion to secure the top-spot ahead of the current points leader Dino Zamparelli by almost half-a-second.
Redline Racing's Zamparelli did briefly charge to the top of the timesheets during the closing minutes of the session, but Wrigley wasn't to be denied a first ever Porsche pole and subsequently responded with a 1 minute 21.734 second lap.
Zamparelli was content to settle for a front row start, while his main title rival Tio Ellinas follows closely behind in third position.
Just six-points separate the leading championship protagonists heading into the seventh race of the season.
JTR's Lewis Plato joins Ellinas on the second row of the grid in fourth, ahead of Will Bratt and Dan Harper in fifth and sixth. Harper will be looking to bounce from a difficult Monza weekend after spinning out from pole position during the opening race.
Welch Motorsport's Rory Collingbourne took a closely fought Pro-Am pole position ahead of Dan Vaughn with the seventh fastest overall time, with Pro runner George Gamble separating the pair in eighth.
Jamie Orton completed the remainder of the top-ten in tenth.
Elsewhere, Peter Kyle-Henney took a slender Am category pole ahead of Peter Mangion, both setting times good enough for 14th and 15th overall.
